So much focus is put on our spouses and even our kids during Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be nice to celebrate friendship. I made some delicious Coconut Blondies with the children to help them spread love for Valentine’s day, and I thought why not keep it going. So I decided to have a ladies night party for a few friends. The theme I decided on was Baskets n’ Berries. I got some supplies together for them to make gift baskets for someone special and I taught them how to make Chocolate Covered Moscato Strawberries. It was a hit! They had a really good time!Valentine’s Day is still a few weeks out, so there is plenty of time to plan one of these and get your closest girlfriends together for the fun! So here’s the Chewsy Lovers Formula for making this one an awesome party:
F3 = (Food)(Favors)(Fun) = FABULOUS PARTY!
Food – Since this party was really small, and planned for a time when most people would be eating dinner, I went with a Cajun Chicken Pasta, a green salad, and rolls, served family style. You can serve heavy hors d’oeuvres or even brunch for this party, just be mindful of who will be in attendance when planning the menu.
Favors – because this was a gift basket party, the guests special baskets they made worked double duty as their favors. I also included on the table some empty gift bags and small boxes already stuffed with tissue. In case someone had a special something they wanted to add to their basket when they got home. I also purchased treat boxes from the craft store for them to take their chocolate covered berries home.
You can also tell guests that they will be making their sweetheart a basket at the party and if they want to bring their gifts to include in their basket at the party they can. My husband is nosey when it comes to things like that so I definitely would have wanted to wrap his gift at the party.
Fun – The girls had so much fun assembling their baskets. I set out cookies, brownies, shortcakes in jars, different valentine’s candies, and treat bags of assorted sizes. I also put out markers, pens, ribbons, heart shaped paper in various colors for them to decorate their baskets, leave sweet messages, and just get creative. You could also get small body oils, candles, and other little small sexy things to go in baskets. I set up a table to do a demo of how to make the chocolate strawberries. If you’re feeling fancy you can put out small bowls of crushed candies and different toppings for the berries. I was really impressed with the creativity of the ladies once we got going! Someone made a Snickers berry and an M&Ms berry!
